Local Elements closed in April 2011. Our building sold, and no suitable space was available for us to move into.

Holiday Gathering, November 20th!

We are coming into the holiday season again, and the gallery is gearing up with festive decorations and new art from many of our talented artists. Join us this Saturday, November 20th for Lake City’s Holiday Gathering! Local Elements, along with many other small businesses will have special features to help ignite the holiday spirit with local flair.

As a special incentive to stop by this Saturday, visitors are encouraged to collect tokens from five of the Holiday Gathering’s participating businesses and turn them in to Lake City Candle Company (http://lakecitycandle.com) for a chance to win a wonderful gift basket. The basket contains gift certificates and special gift items from each business, with a total value of $300! Take a stroll downtown Lake City this weekend!

We are back with fresh artwork by new and returning artists. Our 2010 season features paintings, photographs, pottery, wood work, unique jewelry and artful cards. To preview our artists, just click the ‘artists’ tab at the top of this page. New images will be added throughout the season.

Open hours for July:
Fridays 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Saturdays 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sundays 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Feel free to contact us if you would like to visit the gallery another day or time. We are often working in the studio, and will open ‘by chance’. Thanks!

2010 Season Opener May 1st!

We will open the gallery with fresh artwork by new and returning artists on Saturday, May 1st! Our hours in May will be Saturdays from 10 am – 5 pm. We will be open other days ‘By Chance’ when we are in the studio. Watch for the Open sign and our sandwich board on the sidewalk.

Feel free to reach us from the Contact page to set up a time to visit the gallery outside normal business hours.

The holiday season has finally arrived! Along with the new flakes of snow outdoors, you’ll notice new fine art and functional pieces at Local Elements. Some of our new art includes Margaret Koop’s silk and felted wool scarves and pins, Andrea Leila Denecke’s soda-fired pottery, Steven M. Anderson’s hand-blown glass ornaments, and Mark Connolly’s functional pottery.

Thank you for visiting Local Elements online. We have new work by several artists this month including Tara Burns – jewelry, Eleanor McGough – paintings, and Helen Wang – jewelry. Stop in to see what’s new! Our current hours are Fridays & Saturdays from 10:00 – 5:00. More days and hours will be added at the end of this month. And, as always, you may feel free to call or email to arrange a time to visit the gallery outside of normal hours.

Additionally, we are preparing for special weekends in November, and we will have details here soon!

On Thursday, June 25^th, 2009 Local Elements Art Gallery opened for its debut on the eve of Lake City Minnesota’s Water Ski Days annual celebration. We are the ‘new gallery’ in town, and we have something unique to offer local residents and Highway 61 travelers. We feature a broad selection of high quality fine art and functional objects from Minnesota and western Wisconsin artists. With artwork from over twenty-five artists, Local Elements showcases a full spectrum of styles and art media, from figurative oil paintings to turned-wood bowls.

In just our first month of business visitors have referred to us as “charming”, “a gem”, and “what we were hoping to find”. Browse our site to see what we are all about!
